I'm Paola Ohlson, a Colombian wedding photographer. I speak your language, I understand your family, and I know exactly what your traditions mean. Let me tell your wedding story the way it truly feels.
Victoria and José married at Casa Bella, above the El Yunque rainforest in Río Grande, Puerto Rico. I was there for every moment: the vows beside the pool, the palms, and the table that remembered the loved ones no longer with them.
That is how a wedding feels with me. Not a stranger arriving from outside, but someone who settles into your family and your homeland as if she had always belonged.
“I grew up in Colombia, on my grandfather’s farm. There are so many moments from my childhood I wish I had in a photo today, and they don’t exist. That is why I do this.”
Nati and Juan married by the water, dressed in the floral embroidery of their homeland, surrounded by their children and all the color a Mexican wedding deserves.
I know these moments and what they mean. The embroidery, the ribbon bouquet, the whole family. I photograph them with the same heart you put into them.
From the first message to the last dance, we can speak Spanish or English, whichever you prefer. Your grandmother, your aunts, your parents: no one is left out, no one feels lost. I make sure every person feels comfortable, seen, and loved on your wedding day.
Marty and Camila are Colombian, like me. They married by the sea, with that serene elegance and warmth that someone from where we come from understands a little differently.
Photographing a couple from my homeland always touches my heart. It feels a little like being home.
By the sea, unhurried, the way it should be.
My style is documentary and editorial. The unplanned tears, the laughter, the embraces, the look on your mother’s face when she sees you dressed. The moments you will not get to see yourself, I keep forever.
And that is how it all begins.
Write to me, in English or Spanish, and let us create the day you will want to remember forever.
