Ten tips for your wedding day
The wedding day has finally come, so let's get excited and make it the best!
- Let it go, let it go! It would be fantastic if everything went according to the plan, but that is not the case most of the time. So, the tip is not to sweat the small or big things and remember what matters the most, you marrying the love of your life and enjoying all the good things and your loved ones.
- Don't skip on water or food the morning of your wedding. Drink that water! It will help keep your skin glow and the headaches away. Same with food, you want to be looking into your partner's eyes during the ceremony feeling the luckiest and not the hungriest in the world. We can all wait a few minutes for that bathroom break or snack.
- Gather all your details in one place and have it ready for your photographer. It will save your photographer time running around, which means more time for getting ready photos.
- Get hair and makeup done with time to spare. Schedule your spot in between bridesmaids or family, so you have time to eat, relax, hydrate, get started with bridal photos, and be ready on time. Your makeup artist can always do a final lip and hair retouch for photos if needed, but being the last one to be ready and having to rush out is no fun.
- Make your wedding ceremony unplugged! The number of photos that have been ruined by people getting cellphone photos makes me want to cry and scream to heaven. Making your ceremony unplugged will make your guests focus on you instead of their cellphone, and your photographer is happy!
- Officiant-less first kiss. I personally reach out to the officiant before the ceremony to make sure he/she makes a quick exit to get a timeless and clean capture of the first kiss as a married couple. On this note, make that kiss count! Take your time, repeat kisses, and dips are encouraged to give your photographer time to get different angles and moments.
- Take your time walking down the aisle and make it fun/photo fun.
- Golden hour photos. Setting 10 minutes in your timeline for sunset photos is so worth it. This quick and fun session will make your wedding memories and gallery even more special. No beautiful sunset? No problem, keep those 10 minutes for a night session or an intimate last dance.
- Enjoy your wedding and guest. Months of preparations and anticipation will fly before your eyes, so make sure you enjoy every part of it. Greet your guests, dance, eat, and enjoy a drink or two! It is your party!
- Be present and take it all in! With a set timeline and so many going on, it might be hard to stay present and mindful of all the beautiful moments happening all around you.
